OVERVIEW
The objective of this project is to propose a design solution that addresses a problem identified in the small town of Cortona, Italy, through design thinking and creative problem solving. This proposal aims to address the issue of plastic disposal in Cortona by offering an innovative alternative to disposable water bottles. By re-working and designing new water fountains, our team aims to offer sustainable water consumption for locals and tourists to reduce plastic consumption and waste. This unique solution promotes sustainability to promote a cleaner environment for the community of Cortona.

PROCESS
Starting with research, our team began by looking into what issues exist in the town of Cortona in order to understand how to specifically address their needs. This research showed a great need for waste consumption management, which is what triggered the proposed design solution. Much research was conducted throughout this process in order to fully understand accessibility standards, potential placement locations, as well as funding options. All of these factors were then thoroughly explored in our pitch, along with a promotional plan. With users at the forefront, branding was developed to make this design solution easy to understand. Lastly, a design was created, including documentation, content layout, and interactive elements to organize the design solution in a visually appealing and easy-to-follow proposal.

DELIVERABLES
The deliverables for this project include research, visual design, and creative problem solving. Working in a team, I was able to leverage each member's skills and create an effective plan to address the project guidelines and reflect thoughtful design thinking. Additionally, the proposal layout displays effective layout design, practicing the principles of hierarchy, composition, and visual design.
